Product Owner
Lead the development of Waybiller’s next-generation logistics platform as a hands-on Product Owner, driving real impact in a fast-growing startup transforming bulk and mixed cargo transport.
At Waybiller, we’re building the smartest platform for digital transport planning, already helping move thousands of tonnes of bulk cargo every day. Now, we're expanding into new areas like mixed cargo and smarter route optimization, and we need a Product Owner who’s ready to lead that journey. If you love solving real-world problems and turning industry pain points into intuitive product features - this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- You will have the final say on what gets done. With a broad view of the product, you’ll need to make detailed decisions, ensuring the product remains powerful but not overly complex.
- Responsible for steering the product in the right direction, which means understanding how things are done in the industry and how to effectively translate that into product success.
- Clarify business needs with various clients, discuss, prioritize, and create tasks for developers. You will participate in planning and grooming sessions, answer developer questions, and make key product decisions—what’s important and what’s not. You’ll hold authority over the product.
- Focus on the bigger picture—define and justify product roadmap decisions based on our goals (such as MRR growth).
- Actively communicate with clients, identifying issues yourself rather than waiting for input from others.
Key Challenges:
- As usual for a start-up, things change unexpectedly and clients often ask for new requirements, so it is important to gather the information, prioritize, and communicate the needs to the rest of the team (developers and customer success managers).
- Certain services are not done by Waybiller’s core team, but outsourced members - they also need to be managed and expectations kept clear.
- The goal is to enhance Waybiller into a superior logistics platform for transport planning, focusing on route optimization. Currently, we handle bulk transport, but we plan to expand into mixed cargo, such as transporting multiple products simultaneously (e.g., tent trailers), so reaching this goal.
- Fix and bring to the next level the user experience, particularly for truck drivers. The focus is on making the product simple and efficient to use (UX over UI).
We’re Looking For:
- Someone who has experience building top-tier startups from the ground up. Must have led products from scratch, successfully launching them, ideally in a startup environment.
Familiarity with design and UX.
- We are looking for a specialist with a technical background with the ability to contribute to and provide advice on product architecture. Also, some coding skills are a significant advantage, as reading code will be helpful.
- Ideally, knowledge of our sectors (grain, forestry, road construction, etc) or interest in learning it more. You will need to understand industry-specific logic.
What We Offer You:
- Real ownership: You’ll lead the product, not just manage a backlog.
- Smart & driven team: Work with passionate people solving complex logistics challenges.
- Flexibility: Remote-friendly setup with a healthy work-life balance.
- Impact: Your decisions shape the core product used daily by real-world logistics teams.
- Growth: Be part of a startup scaling fast, you’ll grow as fast as we do.
